Chamber Dance Project: Tango Underground

  • Dupont Underground 19 Dupont Circle Northwest Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

Join us for an evening brimming with artistic brilliance and passionate performances, as Chamber Dance Project’s Quartet performs live at Dupont Underground on May 29, 2024, at 7:00 PM, Tango workshop to follow concert.

Immerse yourself in the captivating melodies from Chamber Dance Project’s resident Quartet. This arrangement accompanies our repertoire work, Sur, a sensuous contemporary tango choreographed by Jorge Amarante. It expands the boundaries of classical and South American tango influences and delivers a serene and electrifying performance.

Principal Musician and Violinist Sally McLain will unveil the dynamic capabilities of the electric Violin in Richard Einhorn's Maxwell's Demon. This first public performance offers a glimpse into the mesmerizing world of Ulysses Dove's ballet, Red Angels, set to premiere in 2025.

End the evening in the sultry rhythms of tango with our expert instructors. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned dancer, join us for a workshop designed to ignite your passion for Tango. No partner or experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to dance your heart out!

Join us for happy hour at 6:30 PM and immerse yourself in the excitement before the performance. Early attendees will be entered for a chance to win two tickets to our thrilling June Season, 'Ramblin'', featuring live performances by the Tony Award®-winning sensation, The Red Clay Ramblers Band, from June 27th to 29th at Harman Hall.
