Alliance for New Music-Theatre’s production of The Trumpeter returns to Dupont Underground for an immersive experience! Following a successful run garnering critical acclaim and a Helen Hayes Recommendation, this powerful production returns to the bunker-like tunnels of Dupont Underground for 13 performances.
Staged in the tunnel, Inna Goncharova’s play captures the siege and bombing of Mariupol during the first year of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Directed by Hungarian director János Szász, the show features DC actors Michael Kevin Darnall and Lise Bruneau, enriched by trumpeter Kevin McKee and a male chorus of Ukrainian singers led by Ruslan Bondar. Audiences will also experience complementary photo exhibits curated by Ukraine House and United Help Ukraine in the venue prior to the performance.
