The February Install

  • Dupont Underground 19 Dupont Circle Northwest Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

The February install showcases the dynamic and diverse ways in which artists and collective organizations have used this time in the pandemic to express themselves creatively. The term “Install” refers to the act of taking space, building out, and standing one’s ground. The exhibit features a variety of mediums, specifically focusing on media projections, installations, and performances by Black creatives and collective organizations in the DC area.

The show organizes the installations in relation to 4 themes: joy, transformation, unapologetic, and beauty. The themes will help guide the audience through the various ways artists thought through the unapologetic nature of these themes, as well as the unwavering resilience needed to express these themes as artists and collective organizations.

At Dupont Underground, we are taking the necessary COVID-19 precautions. We provide masks, hand sanitizer, and gloves to all our staff and volunteers. Volunteer by clicking on the link below!

We do ask for all our visitors to wear a mask and maintain social distancing while in the space. We only accept a maximum of 45 people in the space, so make sure to reserve your ticket ahead of time.
