Dupont Underground and Barrio present TINGLAO: A Barrio Joint

Our intention with Tinglao is pure and simple - To bring together the brands, artists and creatives that Barrio loves in an intimate and interactive environment that is Best Understood when Experienced.

WHAT IS IT?

Tinglao is a 3-day marketplace event brought to you by Barrio in partnership with Dupont Underground. Tinglao will feature pop up shops, art installations, talks, concerts, parties, and more. 

WHAT DOES “TINGLAO” MEAN?

“TINGLAO” is the common pronunciation of the Spanish word tinglado which colloquially means: “Gatherings, events, movements organized around something exciting and interesting.”

Referring to the setting up of something as well as the plot and intrigue of situations or events. 

TINGLAO will have three components: 

• Marketplace

• Talks

• Parties + Concerts 

TICKETS: FREE for marketplace, $20 for access to events + 1 Drink

Friday September 17:

• Marketplace ( 5pm - 8pm)

• Barrio’s Ariola Party ( 9pm - 2am)

Saturday September 18:

• Marketplace + Talks ( 12pm - 6pm)

• The Function Party ( 8pm- 2am )

Sunday September 19

• Marketplace + Talks ( 12pm - 5pm)

• Closing Party ( 7pm - 10 pm)

Barrio is an independent publisher and production house with roots everywhere and based in DC. We build events, publish books, and produce content with one goal in mind; to connect. Barrio draws in its artists and supporters, and holds them close. It focuses on nurturing long-term, sustainable working relationships between creatives in an effort to produce meaningful content. 

At Dupont Underground we are doing our best to make sure our space is as safe as possible! We follow DC's mask mandate and the CDC guidelines; following the mask mandate all of our staff and guests, masks are mandatory to wear masks inside Dupont Underground. We will adapt accordingly if the guidelines and/or restrictions are changed.

For EXHIBITIONS we will be requiring masks for all guests, regardless of vaccination status.

For LIVE EVENTS we will be requiring either (1) a vaccination card showing fully vaccinated status or (2) a negative COVID test results from the past 48 hours before a guest can enter the space. For more information on where to get Covid-19 testing; the CVS in Dupont Circle also provides free Covid-19 tests.

Vaccination cards or negative Covid-19 test results will be checked at the front entrance upon arrival.
