Pens and Swords is an open mic experience. Prepare to go on a roller coaster ride of emotions and have your mind blown. Arrive with an open heart, mind, and soul because this a home for all to share their truth!

Pens and Swords is an open mic experience. Artists will share their truth and raise their voice in the name of savage advocacy and activism! For two hours, audiences can expect to be amazed by a diverse array of poets, musicians, and monthly-featured artists. Hosted by C. Alexandria-Bernard Thomas at Dupont Underground.

Performing artist: ​​Enoch The Poet.

Enoch is a poet, author, and teaching artist born and raised on the Northside of Wilmington, DE. His work examines the process of healing and the ways that trauma and mental health move through a family, as well as the outside forces that affect or have affected these developments. His goal is to create written works, curriculum, and platforms that deepen our emotional understanding and its cyclical relation to the conditions acting on the Black mind, body, and spirit.

This space is accessible ONLY through stairs (no elevators) and the closest bathrooms are in upstairs businesses.

Rules for the Open Mic: Respect the space, the people, and their experiences. We don’t accept racism, misogyny, sexism, no disrespect to anyone’s sexuality or gender identity or any hateful language against anyone.
