Bringing Black Broadway back home once more with Négritude.
Howard University’s Visual Arts Students invite you to immerse yourself in Négritude where the past brilliance and bustle of Black Broadway intertwine with today’s trends.
Black Broadway, currently known as U Street, was a center for African-American art, culture, business, and social change during the Jim Crow era so much so that it paved the way for generations of students to continue to raise their voices, affect change, grow, create - ACT. The Howard University Visual Arts Student Annual Show will center mainly on the visual arts, along with theater and music to bring this story to life.
The exhibition is in support of Howard’s Chadwick Boseman College of Fine Arts, showcasing students artists from the University’s Visual Arts Majors.
