"DC Club Kids" is a photo monument to DC's flourishing queer nightlife.

Washington, DC has the highest per capita queer and trans population in the country and yet no one seems to know. We are a small town under a giant’s thumb and the artists here are shaped by that dichotomy of a

vastly global and cripplingly local sense of self. This city's heart is overshadowed by its political stage, but there are

smaller, more spectacular, no less political stages across this city. There, you will find queer artists inspiring queer epiphanies, often in the eye of a storm.

"DC Club Kids" comprises photos by Bambi (haus of bambi) taken in the green rooms, stages, and underground parties that fuel the queer heart of the nation's capital.

This is a video projection work that documents the resurgence of DC's queer nightlife in the 5 years post lockdown. The video projection is a collection of Fujifilm instax photos that have been taken at underground queer DC events in the last 5 years as the city rebuilt its nightlife. These instax photos are projected, to scale, on the wall "hung" at gallery height.
